Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 to 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

Sauces & Seasonings

  • 1 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (about 1 ounce)

Base & Pasta

  • 4 cups chicken broth or water
  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)

Cheese

  • 1 to cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

Optional Vegetables

  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ cup chopped carrots

Garnishes

  • Chopped green onions or parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Chop any optional vegetables you want to add and measure out buffalo sauce, ranch dressing mix, chicken broth, and pasta. This makes the cooking process smoother.
  2. Layer Ingredients in the Slow Cooker: Place chicken breasts or thighs at the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour buffalo sauce and ranch dressing mix evenly over the chicken, then add chicken broth or water to provide sufficient liquid for cooking the pasta directly in the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on Low: Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender and absorb the creamy, spicy flavors.
  4. Add Pasta and Cheese: Shred the chicken inside the slow cooker, then add the uncooked pasta and shredded cheese. Stir gently to combine, then cook on high for 30 to 45 minutes until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Finish and Garnish: Stir the dish one last time and sprinkle chopped green onions or parsley on top before serving for a fresh, colorful finish.

Notes

  • Use fresh chicken (not frozen) for even cooking and the best texture.
  • Add pasta toward the end of cooking to avoid mushy noodles.
  • Stir sauces well before layering to ensure even flavor distribution.
  • Adjust broth quantity based on your slow cooker to prevent overly thick or watery pasta.
  • Customize heat by starting with moderate buffalo sauce and increasing as desired.
