One Pot Chicken Alfredo Bake

One Pot Chicken Alfredo Bake is a creamy, cheesy, and comforting dish that combines tender chicken, rich Alfredo sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta all in one easy-to-make recipe. Ideal for busy weeknights or meal prep, it offers rich flavor with minimal cleanup and can be customized with vegetables or different proteins.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

Pasta

  • 8 oz uncooked fettuccine pasta

Sauce & Dairy

  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce
  • 1 ½ cups milk or cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Aromatics & Seasonings

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat, then sauté the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from the pot and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Build Flavor: In the same pot, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, ensuring it does not burn. This deepens the flavor base of the sauce.
  3. Add Pasta and Liquid: Pour in the uncooked fettuccine pasta along with the milk (or cream) and Alfredo sauce. Stir to combine, making sure the pasta is fully submerged in the liquid.
  4. Cook the Pasta and Sauce Together: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook until pasta is tender and the sauce thickens, about 10–12 minutes.
  5. Combine Chicken and Cheese: Return the cooked chicken to the pot, stir in freshly grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly to achieve a creamy, cheesy consistency.
  6. Bake (Optional): For a golden crust, transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle extra Parmesan or mozzarella cheese on top and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–15 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for more intense flavor.
  • Avoid overcooking the pasta; aim for al dente as it will soften more during baking.
  • Stir often while cooking to prevent pasta from sticking or burning.
  • Grate Parmesan cheese fresh for better melting and flavor.
  • Allow the dish to rest a few minutes before serving to thicken the sauce and meld flavors.
