Mint Oreo Truffles

Mint Oreo Truffles are an easy-to-make, indulgent treat that perfectly balances creamy richness with crunchy mint-flavored Oreos. Coated in smooth white chocolate with an optional festive green tint, these bite-sized truffles deliver a refreshing minty flavor and delightful texture that’s perfect for parties, holidays, or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 24 Mint Oreo Cookies (about 1.5 cups crushed)
  • 8 oz (225 g) Cream Cheese, softened
  • 12 oz (340 g) White Chocolate Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional Ingredients

  • Green Food Coloring, a few drops
  • 1 tsp Mint Extract

Instructions

  1. Crush the Mint Oreos: Place the Mint Oreo cookies into a food processor or a sturdy zip-top bag and crush them into fine crumbs, ensuring no large chunks remain. This crumbly base is crucial for smooth truffles that blend seamlessly with the cream cheese.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: Transfer the crushed cookies into a mixing bowl and add softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or your hands until it forms a soft, dough-like consistency. If desired, add a few drops of mint extract for an extra refreshing flavor.
  3. Shape into Balls: Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls about 1 inch in diameter using your hands. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up, which helps the truffles hold their shape during coating.
  4. Coat with White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate melts in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Optionally add a drop of green food coloring to tint the chocolate. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate to fully coat it, then place the coated truffles on parchment paper.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the coated truffles for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate hardens completely. Once set, the Mint Oreo Truffles are ready to enjoy or gift. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese to ensure easy blending and smooth texture.
  • Mix ingredients just until combined to keep the truffles tender and not dense.
  • Chill the truffles well before coating to maintain their shape.
  • If melted chocolate is too thick, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable oil for smoother coating.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve for maximum freshness.
