This Zebra Bundt Cake Recipe creates a stunning striped dessert that combines classic vanilla and chocolate flavors. Easy to bake with simple pantry ingredients, it delivers a moist, tender texture and visually impressive zebra pattern, perfect for family gatherings or special celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Flavoring

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your bundt pan thoroughly with butter and flour to prevent sticking, ensuring the zebra patterns remain intact.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt for even distribution and a light crumb.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar until light, fluffy, and pale, about 3–5 minutes using an electric mixer.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate Adding Dry Ingredients and Milk: Gradually add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry mix. Stir just until combined.
  6. Divide and Flavor the Batter: Split the batter evenly into two bowls. Mix cocoa powder into one bowl for the chocolate batter; leave the other as vanilla.
  7. Create the Zebra Pattern in the Pan: Drop alternating spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter into the center of the prepared bundt pan until all batter is used, letting stripes form naturally.
  8. Bake and Cool: Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for smooth blending.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep cake tender.
  • Use a tablespoon or small scoop for even layering of batters.
  • Thoroughly grease and flour the bundt pan to prevent sticking.
  • Check the cake at 40 minutes to avoid overbaking.
