Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1/4 cup sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 green onions, freshly chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kielbasa: Slice the kielbasa into bite-sized rounds, about half an inch thick. This size allows for even cooking and easy coating with glaze.
  2. Make the Spicy Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the sriracha, honey or brown sugar, garlic powder, and melted butter until smooth and well combined. This mixture will coat each piece with a delicious spicy-sweet flavor.
  3. Cook the Kielbasa Bites: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the kielbasa slices and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden crust and become slightly crispy on the outside.
  4. Toss with the Glaze: Reduce the heat to low and pour the prepared glaze over the seared kielbasa. Stir gently to ensure every piece is coated and let the glaze thicken slightly and stick to the sausage.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the kielbasa bites to a serving platter. Sprinkle freshly chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top for color, crunch, and added flavor. Serve warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the kielbasa to avoid drying out the meat. Searing until a golden crust forms is ideal.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less sriracha, or incorporate crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Use fresh green onions and add them just before serving to keep them bright and flavorful.
  • If the glaze is too thin, simmer it separately to reduce and thicken before mixing with the kielbasa.
  • Serve these bites warm as they are best enjoyed fresh to maintain texture and flavor.
