  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese or Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese
  • 3/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 3 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
  • Italian Seasoning, 1 tsp
  • Fresh Parsley or Basil, for garnish (optional)

Sauces & Condiments

  • 1 1/2 cups Tomato Sauce or Ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

Seasonings

  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon and Prepare Beef: Fry bacon strips in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels, then crumble once cooled. In the same pan with bacon fat, add diced onions and minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and softened. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and set beef and bacon mixture aside.
  2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta or cream cheese, shredded cheddar or mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir until well blended and creamy.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together tomato sauce or ketchup, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce, creating a tangy, burger-style sauce that enhances the flavor layers.
  4. Boil the Lasagna Noodles: Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to prevent sticking. Lay them flat on a clean surface or tray to prepare for layering.
  5. Assemble the Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of the prepared sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top, then spread an even layer of the beef and bacon mixture, followed by the cheese mixture, and sprinkle with extra shredded cheese. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous topping of shredded cheese and crumbled bacon.
  6. Bake to Perfection: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to allow the top to become golden and bubbly. Once done, let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Balance moisture: Drain excess fat from the beef to prevent a watery lasagna.
  • Cheese choice matters: Mixing cheeses adds gooeyness and enhances flavor depth.
  • Rest before slicing: Let the lasagna cool slightly to firm up and preserve layers.
  • Use fresh garlic: Fresh minced garlic provides superior aroma and flavor over powders.
  • Customize baking time: Adjust as needed depending on oven and dish size to avoid burning cheese.
