Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dough & Finishing

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (usually 8 oz or 1 tube)
  • Optional: 1 egg for egg wash
  • Optional: powdered sugar and extra lemon juice for glaze

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy, making sure there are no lumps for a silky filling.
  2. Preheat and Prepare Dough: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Fill the Crescent Triangles: Place about a tablespoon of the lemon cheesecake filling near the wider end of each crescent dough triangle, taking care not to overfill to avoid leaks during baking.
  4. Roll and Shape: Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the point, encasing the filling inside. Curve the ends to form the classic crescent shape to ensure even baking and an attractive presentation.
  5. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and flaky. Remove from oven and let cool slightly for easier handling.
  6. Optional Glaze: For extra sweetness, mix powdered sugar with lemon juice and drizzle over the cooled rolls to add shine and enhance the lemon flavor.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • Do not overfill the dough triangles to prevent leaking and maintain crescent shape.
  • Chill crescent dough for 10 minutes if too soft, to make it easier to handle.
  • Brush dough lightly with egg wash before baking for extra golden, shiny rolls.
  • Allow rolls to cool completely before applying glaze to avoid melting and sogginess.
