Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 oz ground sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, or preferred melting cheese)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for cooking)

Optional Spices & Add-ons

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil. Crumble the ground sausage into the pan and cook, stirring occasionally until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk the eggs with salt and pepper. Pour them into the skillet with the cooked sausage. Gently stir to scramble until eggs are just set but still soft and creamy.
  3. Add the Cheese: Evenly sprinkle shredded cheese over the sausage and eggs. Cover briefly or let residual heat melt the cheese for about one minute.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Once cheese is melted and bubbly, remove from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy as is or pair with toast, fresh fruit, or your favorite breakfast sides.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs for creamier, more even scrambling.
  • Do not overcook the eggs; remove from heat when slightly moist as they will continue cooking from residual heat.
  • Choose sharp cheese for enhanced savory flavor without extra salt.
  • Drain excess fat from sausage to avoid a greasy dish.
  • Cook sausage in batches if needed to allow browning and avoid overcrowding the pan.
