Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Chop the onions, bell peppers, and potatoes into bite-sized pieces. In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat with a pinch of salt and pepper until fully cooked and no longer pink.
  2. Layer the Casserole: In a casserole dish, evenly layer the chopped potatoes first, followed by the cooked meat and then the chopped vegetables. Spoon the tomato sauce or salsa evenly over all the ingredients to keep the casserole moist.
  3. Add the Cheese and Seasonings: Generously sprinkle shredded cheese over the layered ingredients. Season with your preferred spices such as garlic powder, paprika, and chili flakes for added flavor.
  4. Bake Until Golden: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
