Ingredients

Scale

Protein and Dairy

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

Produce

  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Optional: 1-2 tbsp lime juice
  • Optional extras: sliced jalapeños

Pantry and Condiments

  • 46 soft flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breast evenly with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove from heat and shred or dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Prepare the Fresh Ingredients: Dice the ripe avocados and tomatoes, shred the lettuce, and thinly slice the red onions. If using cilantro and lime juice, chop and set aside for garnish or mixing.
  3. Warm the Tortillas: Gently warm the flour tortillas in a dry pan over medium heat for 20-30 seconds on each side or microwave for 15-20 seconds until soft and pliable for rolling.
  4. Assemble the Burritos: Spread a generous layer of ranch dressing evenly over each warm tortilla. Layer the shredded chicken, diced avocado, shredded cheese, and fresh veggies evenly across the tortillas.
  5. Roll and Serve: Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly from one end to the other to secure all the fillings inside. Serve immediately or wrap for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • Use fresh but slightly firm ripe avocados to achieve the best creamy texture.
  • Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness for consistent cooking.
  • Warm tortillas properly to prevent cracking when rolling.
  • Avoid overstuffing burritos to keep them tight and easy to eat.
  • Use a squeeze bottle to evenly distribute ranch dressing without oversaturation.
