Butterfinger Balls

Butterfinger Balls

Butterfinger Balls are a no-bake, easy-to-make treat combining crunchy Butterfinger candy, creamy cream cheese, and a smooth chocolate coating. Perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime you want a quick, decadent dessert that delights both kids and adults with its rich, crunchy texture and customizable flavors.

Ingredients

Core Ingredients

  • Butterfinger candy bars: 3-4 bars, crushed finely
  • Cream cheese: 8 oz (softened)
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup
  • Milk chocolate chips: 1 ½ cups (for melting)
  • Butter or shortening: 1-2 tbsp (optional, for smoothing chocolate)

Optional Toppings

  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed nuts
  • Extra crushed candy bits

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butterfinger mixture: Crush the Butterfinger candy bars into fine pieces using a food processor or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin until you achieve small, crunchy crumbs—not powder.
  2. Combine with cream cheese and sugar: Soften the cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix well. Fold in the crushed Butterfinger candy carefully to coat evenly without breaking the candy further.
  3. Shape into balls: Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to portion the mixture. Roll each portion between your palms to form smooth, round balls. Place the formed balls on a parchment-lined tray or plate.
  4. Chill the balls: Refrigerate the Butterfinger Balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up, making them easier to coat with chocolate.
  5. Dip in melted chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate chips with butter or shortening in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Use a fork or dipping tool to submerge each ball in the chocolate. Lift it out gently, letting excess drip off before placing it back on parchment.
  6. Add optional toppings and set: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your choice of toppings such as sprinkles, crushed nuts, or extra candy bits. Return the balls to the fridge for 15-20 minutes to fully set the chocolate coating.

Notes

  • Use fresh, crisp Butterfinger bars for best texture and flavor.
  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • Do not over-crush the candy; keep some texture for signature crunch.
  • Line trays with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  • Work quickly when dipping in chocolate, as it sets fast.
