Ingredients

Scale

Protein & Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 24 wonton wrappers

Seasonings & Sauces

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 23 tbsp sweet chili sauce

Fresh Vegetables

  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 3 green onions, chopped

Optional Garnishes & Variations

  • Fresh cilantro or Thai basil (for garnish)
  • Toasted sesame seeds or crushed peanuts (for crunch)
  • Sriracha or chili flakes (for added heat, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Add ground chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir in soy sauce, then remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Crisp the Wonton Shells: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Gently press wonton wrappers into a muffin tin or taco molds to shape mini taco shells. Lightly brush or spray each shell with oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove and allow to cool.
  3. Prepare the Fresh Veggies: While the wonton shells are baking, finely shred the carrots and cabbage. Chop the green onions. These fresh veggies will add crunchy texture and bright color to your tacos.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Spoon the warm chicken mixture into each crispy wonton shell. Top with shredded carrots, cabbage, and green onions. Drizzle generously with sweet chili sauce for a sweet and spicy finish. Add optional garnishes like fresh herbs or toasted seeds if desired.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately to maintain the crispiness of the shells and to enjoy the contrasting textures. Perfect for sharing with family or guests.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking chicken to get a good sear without steaming.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best aroma and flavor.
  • Lightly oil the wonton wrappers before baking to achieve maximum crispness.
  • Customize your sauce by mixing sweet chili sauce with a splash of lime juice for added zest.
  • Shred and chop veggies just before assembling to keep them fresh and crunchy.
